Florida State University Chemistry Building

Florida State University Chemistry Building
Florida State University chose JRA Architects to help design the new Chemistry building in 2002. The 160,000 s.f. five-story building is currently under construction with a scheduled completion date in early 2008. The building will be home to the Molecular Synthesis, Biomaterials and Nanotechnology/Materials Chemistry. Each department is housed on its own floor, starting on the second level with common areas such as classrooms, workshops, loading/receiving and chemical distribution being located on the ground floor. The ground level also contains a 150-seat formal lecture hall with a pre-function space. Each floor/department houses research labs with adjacent offices, common meeting spaces for faculty as well as the departments administration offices.
